CORINA’S REVIEW

KINDLE UNLIMITED

Oooh this one is a good one!!!

Two years ago I was BLOWN AWAY by the author’s The Darkest Sunrise duet. Both, Tijuana and myself couldn’t stop talking about the twists and masterful story writing. I’m happy to say that Written with Regret very much reminded me of this duet.

Second Chances
Single Parent
Emotional
Fabulous Writing

Written Regret had it all.

The writing was fantastic, dialogues and especially all the interactions between Caven and  his little girl were PRECIOUS!!! Swoon alert!!! Your ovaries will explode – and I rarely talk about my ovaries – so pay attention. lol

I’m a sucker for the single parent trope. All the hurdles and misadventures that come with having to learn to take care of a child without prior knowledge is like catnip for me. Especially if the stories are as well written as this one.

The second chance romance between Caven and our heroine didn’t hurt either. The emotions were high – the sexual tension palpable – and the WTF moment at the end of the book was just the right twist to keep me sitting on the edge of my seat until June 13th 2019.

My thoughts:

So, yeah it was a good one!! Maybe not as “OMG what did I just read” as I felt after the The Darkest Sunrise duet, but still pretty good, one of Aly Martinez‘s better books if I may say so. It’s especially a great addition to your tbr if you are a KU subscriber. It didn’t hurt that the pre-order price was 99 cents!!

BLURB

Written with Regret - Aly MartinezEvery little girl dreams of the fairytale. The one where the white knight rushes in to save her from the clutches of evil. They fall in love, have babies, and live happily ever after.

By that definition, my life should have been a fairytale too.

When I was eight years old, Caven Hunt saved me from the worst kind of evil to walk the Earth. It didn’t matter that I was a kid. I fell in love with him all the same.

But that was where my fairytale ended.

Years later, a one-night stand during the darkest time imaginable gave us a little girl. It was nothing compared to the pitch black that consumed me when I was forced to leave her with Caven for good.

At the end of every fairytale, the happily-ever-after is the one thing that remains consistent. It wasn’t going to be mine, but there hadn’t been a night that passed where I hadn’t prayed that it would be hers.

I owed Caven my life.
However, I owed that innocent child more.
And that included ripping the heart from my chest and facing her father again.
