CORINA’S REVIEW

Reading a novel by Claudia Connor is a privilege. I fell in love with Worth the Fall, (The McKinney Brothers, Book 1) and have been rereading it annually. That book was as perfect for me as a novel can be. Since then I’ve devoured every book that Claudia Connor has ever published.

Worth The Wait was a worthy continuation of the McKinney and now Walker clan. It was such a beautiful and heart-felt story.

Nick Walker, a FBI agent and oldest brother to Hannah Walker from Worth the Risk (The McKinney Brothers #2) is tough and over protective. He had to step in as surrogate father at just 19 years old when their parents died. Nick took the role incredibly serious and gave up anything for his siblings. Meeting Mia at University was fateful for both of them. Mia James, future medical surgeon and only child of immigrants, studious and kind-hearted was not prepared for Nick. His quiet and mature demeanor broke through her scholarly personality, and changed her life forever.

Their love story was heart-wrecking. After being mentioned in Worth the Risk I couldn’t wait to find out more about Nick and Mia. Their love for each other was all consuming and lasting. They were the ONE person for each other. They loved so deeply until tragedy literally ripped their makeshift family apart. And the outcome was crippling for both of them.

This book was about second chances, and finally being reunited with someone’s other half.

It literally ripped me to pieces reading about what occurred to them. The pain that both endured was devastating. Mia especially broke my heart. I cried for her pain and loss. She needed and deserved a happy ending.

Claudia Connor wrote a gripping tale about second chances and the emotional pain that comes with tragedy. The backstory really brought it all together. Mia and Nick’s love had such deep roots and the flashbacks really emphasized that. It also highlighted the Walker family dynamic. It was heart-wrenching to read about their splintered family and how important it will be that all Walker man will find their own warm-hearted woman to make them whole again.
