Unboxing: Illumicrate Saints & Scars

Ilumicrate impressed me last year with their Magic & Mayhem: The V.E. Edition box. I was literally blown away by the quality and quantity of items they curated with help from the author herself.

Since then I’ve been keeping my eye out for their next special edition box.

I’m not a HUGE YA fantasy reader, so most of the boxes that have been offered by other subscription services don’t really interest me much, but when I saw Illumicrate’s announcement for a Grishaverse box I just had to have one.

So here it is: Unboxing: Illumicrate Saints & Scars

Arrival Date: February 2019

I’m going to pick my best three items each time I do an unboxing post which could become a regular feature on the blog. Let’s see how far I get.

Let’s get started…

I’m going to embrace the SOCKS – I’ve gotten so many socks in past boxes and never wear them – I’ll be changing this. From now on, I’ll be wearing fandom socks.

I’m a HUGE fan of fan art of any kind and this calendar is just gorgeous. Best of all, every month is done by a different artist.

This edition is just beyond gorgeous. I can’t even put into words how much I love special editions, especially if their naked covers looks like this.

So, all in all this box wasn’t as impressive as their first special edition box. It didn’t have as many items, and the items that they chose didn’t impress me as much. At this point I’m not sure if I’ll buy another Illumicrate box, they would have to do a fandom like Red Rising for me to pay as much as I did.
