“I want to be your lover, your husband, your home. I want to be your everything.”

The wait for book two was excruciating! I became so invested in Trace and Maddie during book one. The ups and downs of their relationship left me emotionally drained. Then wham, the surprise ending totally knocked my breath away. I’ve never loved a cliffhanger more. Talk about leaving readers panting for more…that’s what Pam Godwin achieved. So, we’re here in Two Is A Lie all reeling from Cole’s return and attempting to adjust to the new reality. You see how I inserted myself into the narrative? That’s how invested I am!!

The emotional turmoil is palpatable. I can’t imagine ever being in a similar position, however I can empathize with the confusion and mixed feelings.

“It feels as though I have two hearts, and I’m waiting for someone to tell me I have to rip one out and hand it over. And it’s going to going to hurt like hell.”

That quote sums up the entire book perfectly. This is an angsty, emotional, gut-clenching read. My heart nearly pounded out of my chest and I’ve never flipped pages so fast in my life.

Throughout the drama, the characters respond as expected. There are some brilliantly romantic moments between Maddie and each of her guys. Unfortunately, I must admit I was as drained as they all were near the end. The lies, omissions, and back and forth drama beat me down just a tad. The turning point came at the very end. Once again, the ending was mind-blowing.

Overall, I’m enjoying the series immensely. As I stated before, the character interactions and their emotional please jump off the page! I recommend this series to romance lovers who enjoy love triangles and emotional reads.

HOLY MOLY!!!!  (ATTENTION!!!! This book is about a triangle, there is just no way around it.)

How can I adequately express my feelings for this book?

Actually that doesn’t even cover it all. Reading Two is a Lie by Pam Godwin left me conflicted, raw, deeply invested, and in a state of constant apprehension. After that cliffhanger in book one (review here) I knew that the status quo was over and done with. Whatever Cole, Danni, and Trace had once was pretty much in the past.

No way could they go on without talking about feelings, hopes, and worries. And all of that pretty much ensured that one or more parties would be crushed for life. All three were in a perpetual state of emotional turmoil. Neither men wanted to give up what they found in Danni, and Danni didn’t want to give up either of them as well.

It was the most messed up situation anyone could have come up with. (I’m wrong, the author did:-))

What stood out for me the most was the way the author made me care and root for both men. Not once, while I was reading did I take sides for either Cole or Trace – and I was clearly TeamCole in book one. But reading Two is a Lie made me change my mind, and it wasn’t even a hard. Both, Cole as well as Trace were exceptional and wonderful heroes. Both have characteristics and qualities that I adore in men. So it was really hard just to root for one of them.

This book was the epitome of an emotionally charged roller coaster ride. There was no time for taking a breather. From beginning to end this novel was electrifying, captivating and at times aggravating.

But, gosh am I looking forward to book THREE. All I can think of is Danni has to keep them BOTH. 😀

Two is a Lie - Pam GodwinTwo lies.
Two men who don’t share.

I never stopped loving Cole. Not when he left me. lNot when he disappeared for three years. Not when he crashed back into my life in a violent explosion of testosterone and fury.
His sudden reappearance questions everything I thought I knew, including how I came to love another man.

Trace is an intoxicating breeze of seduction over ice. My rock. My second chance at forever.
And he’s committed to annihilating the competition.

The battle that ensues wrenches me back and forth between them.
Fighting and fucking.
Resisting and submitting.

Together, they entangle me in a web of lies, rivalry, and desire that weaves as deeply as their devotion to me.

I love two men, and if I can only have one, I choose none.

    1. Thank you so much Susan!!!!!! It’s so much fun when we talk about how we liked a book and realize that 9 out of 10 times we rate it the same. 🤣
