10-21-2019
It’s hard to imagine but Halloween is almost around the corner – and that means my friends, October is almost over. How is your reading month coming along? My reading this month is slower, but I’m liking it. Less pressure, and I read when I’m in the mood, rather than having to sit down and read because of a deadline. Also, this month was low on highly anticipated book releases. It gave me more freedom to read any books that came to mind, or not.
The highlight of October was definitely my visit to the Renaissance Faire, I had a fantastic time, and will probably put together a blog post with photos. As always the atmosphere was amazing. And if you ever wanted to know how it feels being part of a Ren Faire, check out this book.

Book haul
I got some great book mail this month, some from publishers, but most I bought myself, via Amazon and BOTM (I opened a second account – sigh, more to that later). I’ll have a separate post about all the books I added to my bookshelves in October.
Audiobooks
My audiobooks this month ROCKED!!! I finally reached out to a couple publishers and they have generously sent over audio files for some of the books I had on my tbr. If you love to listen to audiobooks, I can only recommend reaching out. You never know.
Here are some of the audiobooks I listened to so far this month
THE GRACE YEAR BY KIM LIGGETT
THE WHISPER MAN BY ALEX NORTH
THE NANNY BY GILLY MACMILLAN
Bookish News
One of the books I finished last week, The Grace Year, which was just released October 8th 2019, has already been optioned for a movie, directed by none other than Elizabeth Banks for Universal Pictures. I’m really excited about a movie, because the story itself was mind-blowingly different. And I’m sure it will make a great movie. More here.
I also found out that one of my favorite YA mystery authors, Karen M. McManus is releasing TWO books next year. One of Us Is Next is being released in January of 2019, and her fourth novel, The Cousins is being release fall 2020. More here.

Reading Update
I’m currently reading TWO books. Mr. Perfect is a book for a group buddy read on Instagram. For most of us in the group it’s actually a reread – and I’m just loving it. Rereading is a true pleasure for me, and sharing this feeling with so many others is pretty awesome.
And I’m also reading Fireborne, which is a YA debut novel, and it’s being lauded as a combination of Game of Thrones meets Red Rising. I’m enjoying it so far, which is not a far fetch since I love anything with dragons.
That’s it for today.
What are you currently reading? Have you read or are reading any of the books I mentioned above? Let me know in the comments…
xx Corina
THE WEEKLY READING UPDATE OCTOBER 2019
I really want to read all three of the audiobooks that you got, they sound amazing. Plus I’ll definitely have to look Cousins up, I knew the author had two books in the works but didn’t realize the second had a name yet
I loved all three thrillers (audiobooks) and I’m going to pick even more going forward – lol. I enjoy YA mysteries, and she does them very well. But I didn’t think she would come out with two books next year – but I’m not complaining. 😂
Yay I hope you continue to like them in the future then ☺️ so do I. Yes that surprised me too, I thought the second was out next year but I am looking forward to it 😊 learning about new books is always wondeful
Hm… I never considered opening a second account for book of the month! Thanks for the idea 🙂
Oh boy – lol. BUT I’m definitely not the only one. I think it helps if you like to order more than the one BOTM plus 2 additions. There are people out there that do it. But it’s not very common. 😀
