Sports Romances
Sport romances are one of my most favorite trope. This list of my most favorite of all will be a work in progress. I’ll be adding new books as I go. And maybe someone will find their next keeper because of it. Happy reading!!
Scoring Wilder by R.S. Grey
What started out as a joke— seduce Coach Wilder—soon became a goal she had to score.
I absolutely adore this book. It’s my most favorite by RS Grey, and I usually read it once a year at least. It’s a coach/athlete type of romance. What I loved the most, was the utter dedication to the sport and the chaotic life of new adults at university. Perfect blend of entertainment and passion.
The Year We Fell Down (The Ivy Years #1) by Sarina Bowen
The Year we Fell Down is another of those college sports romances that I could read again and again. She is in a wheelchair and he is on crutches – perfect couple. Both ice hockey players, that have the unique opportunity to meet and get to know each other at a time when they both needed help the most. FAVE!!
The Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata
My second most favorite book by Marian Zapata and another reread. I love this book so much. Every time Vanessa describes Aiden as the Wall of Winnipeg I was cracking up. This author writes the most unique and fantastic slow burn novels. A MUST READ!!
Kulti by Mariana Zapata
Another favorite of mine. It’s soccer time! Both main characters are soccer player and their story is one for your tbr if you are as sports romance obsessed as I am.
Sports Romances Novels
From Lukov with Love by Mariana Zapata
Whatever she writes, she is does it well. Ice skating is one of the sports I rarely read about but love so much! The passion and dedication in this book is palpable.
Moonshot by Alessandra Torre
Another book that’s incredibly well researched and has the feel of a real sports romance. I love Baseball, but what I love even more, is the life around baseball. The traveling, behind the scenes, and just being part of a sports family – this book had it all.
Him and US by Sarina Bowen, Elle Kennedy
They don’t play for the same team. Or do they?
These two books were amazing!!! Just amazon!! Romantic, poignant, and exactly how a sports romance should feel like. All the feels from the locker room, to the ice, or with the team – it had it all.
Sports Romances Novels
Amour Amour (Aerial Ethereal #1) by Krista Ritchie, Becca Ritchie
Have you ever watched a Cirque du Soleil show?? I have. And the professional athletes that perform each day have a story as well. Amour Amour does an amazing job and it’s no wonder I’ve read this book already a couple times. Vegas, athletes, and one crazy family. I was hooked from the very beginning. And it doesn’t hurt that it’s written by one my most favorite author couples.
Pucked (Pucked #1) by Helena Hunting
The Pucked series by Helena Hunting is a lot of FUN!!! I’ve come to love and cherish the entire cast. If you love ice hockey and new adult – this series is for you. The next/last book in this series is coming out this month on audio, and in paperback later this year.
See Jane Score (Chinooks Hockey Team #2) by Rachel Gibson
See Jane Score must have been my first ever sports romance. It actually started it all. The idea of journalist and athlete fascinated me. The glimpses into the locker room. The drama on the field, and the forbidden relationship during the season was like candy for me. I couldn’t get enough.
The Hard Count by Ginger Scott
This book gave me all the feels. Sometimes it’s called a sports romance but it hasn’t much to do with sports. Not this book. It’s incredibly well researched, and delivers such an emotional punch that I still remember all the feels.
Sports Romances Novels
Room for You (Cranberry Inn #1) by Beth Ehemann
· 16,098 Ratings · 1,335 Reviews · My Review
This feel good romance was the start of a wonderful story that I adored. Ice hockey player meets single mom – the following was a feel good novel that spoke to me in more than one way. Mature characters, wonderful kids, and a love-story that resonated deeply with me. The Cranberry Inn is a series that should be on anyone’s tbr.
Fraternize (Players Game #1) by Rachel Van Dyken
· 4,175 Ratings · 707 Reviews · My Review
I loved how this book played out. It was unique, and refreshingly different in the way it was plotted. I was truly amazed by the authors out of the box thinking. Fraternize was all about two NFL players and a professional cheerleader. It sounds like a triangle, but rest be assured it wasn’t – “really”.
The Studying Hours (How to Date a Douchebag #1) by Sara Ney
· 12,304 Ratings · 1,550 Reviews · My Review
This one is for all of you that love a good dose of jerk, asshole, and douchebag in their heroes. I know it’s not for everyone but for me it worked. I love the redeemable hero. The guy that is a jerk to everyone else except the heroine. I’m the philosophy if there is Douchebag in the title there better is a douchebag in the book. Call it how it is. And because of it I was hooked from the very beginning. Her Douchebags are my kind of guys – ahem we are talking about fictional guys here – just saying. 😀
Sliding Home (Richmond Rogues #4) by Kate Angell
Even though I read the entire series and enjoyed it, this book was the best. I reread it at least once a year. Kason, was exactly as I like my guys. Brooding, taciturn, antisocial – grumpy. All of these characteristics draw me like a bee to honey. I can’t say no. Lot’s of sports, team work, and drama in the locker room. It just shows athletes are major drama queens behind the scenes – and I was loving it.
Sports Romances Novels
The Foxhole Court (All for the Game #1) by Nora Sakavic
OMG OMG OMG – this trilogy was a highlight of 2018 – I devoured it back to back. Sometimes there is a series that eclipses every other. This is one of them. Not only did the author invent a new sport from scratch in such a way that I wanted to go to games and watch it. She brought the frenzy, competition, and bloody awesomeness to the page. I was HOOKED! I admit, I might just be a wee bit obsessed with it.
Good Boy (WAGs #1) by Sarina Bowen, Elle Kennedy
· 9,324 Ratings · 1,381 Reviews · My Review
I fell immediately in love with Blake Riley. His humor and ability to push Jess’s buttons was hilarious. I think what I enjoy the most is unique characters, and Blake was just such a one. He didn’t fit the mold and he could have cared less. And his cool attitude was addicting and made it easy to enjoy this book. Blake and Jess’s back and forth and chemistry is the reason why it’s one of my favorites. I had tons of fun reading Good Boy, and just going over some fo the quotes, reminded me why I need to read it again.
The Bombshell Effect by Karla Sorensen
The Bombshell Effect is my most recent addition to my sports romance favorite shelf. And it earned its spot. I loved the execution, storyline and characters. Karla Sorensen was a new to me author, and I’m so glad I gave it a chance. The book was full of sport, sport politics, and the forbidden relationships between athletes and owner of the team. I loved it all. And I honestly can’t wait to read her next one.
