CORINA’S REVIEW

I’m rereading this book is part of the ULTIMATE READING CHALLENGE . January’s challenge is to reread an old favorite. I didn’t have to think hard to pick Scoring Wilder for this month’s challenge. By now I must have read this book half a dozen times. I just LOVE IT!!! And it was the perfect time to pick it up. My first reread of 2018 – YAY!!!

If you love sports romances, and new adult romances this is YOUR book!!

The reason why I come back to this book again and again is the perfect balance between, romance, angst, sports characters, the friendships, the LOL moments, and of course the love story. There are just a few (handful) books I read again and again. Especially with such  a busy life, my rereads are picked especially for their 100% guaranteed delivery.

And Scoring Wilder delivers ever SINGLE TIME!!!!

I absolutely adore that both main characters are athletes, soccer players. The dedication, practices, grueling workouts, everything that went into this book to make the story and characters realistic and authentic works for me. Both, Kinsley and Liam, are goal oriented, doing their best to succeed and to get to the next level. I admire that in people and characters. I can’t have a six pack if I don’t go to the gym. Every damn hero has a six pack and only a few ever go to the gym – WTF??????? I need to see them train, workout, be conscious of what they eat – I need at least a small amount of realism in my romance book. Show me that you researched the matter, and you are aware that nothing comes from nothing.

I LOVE the friendship between Kinsley and some of her fellow teammates. They are young, 18, going to 19, and they still have the exuberant and playful aura that young adults that age have. They have fun, get into hilarious situations, and are incredibly cute together, and together they were a blast.  Instead of a bromance they had a sismance – and I was loving it!!!

I also loved the forbidden aspect – coach and team member.

I could read these kind of books all the time. The competition, the tension and temptation just does it for me. Their chemistry and sexual attraction scorched the pages. And especially their comfort level with each other made this book a BIG favorite of mine. Their confidence in each other, was palpable and subsequently meshed beautifully with each other. They were two very successful, and determined athletes, Both Kinsley and Liam were on top of their game, the best at what they were doing, and they respected each other even more because of it.

Liam was a gem of a guy. Protective but never stepping over the line, supportive, understanding and sensitive. OMG – there was this one scene, I was SWOONING!!! For him, it was all about Kinsley and Soccer – in her, he found a reason to leave the Bad Boy image behind.

I honesty could go on and on about this book.

The laughter, and chuckling that occurred  while I was devouring this book for the sixth time. How much I enjoyed the interaction between the main characters, as well as the supporting cast. How captivated I was by the story, especially since I know kids that play club soccer – the dedication that goes into this sport is staggering.  It all just worked for me, and I hope reading this review will make you pick it up. Especially for all you KU readers, now is your chance to read it.

It deserves all the stars.

It’s by far my most favorite book by R.S. Grey. It was my first, after my sister implored me to READ it!! And I could only agree with her wholeheartedly. I’ve been a great fan of the author’s writing ever since. But nothing can touch my deeply and passionate love for all things SCORING WILDER.

BLURB

What started out as a joke— seduce Coach Wilder—soon became a goal she had to score.

With Olympic tryouts on the horizon, the last thing nineteen-year-old Kinsley Bryant needs to add to her plate is Liam Wilder. He’s a professional soccer player, America’s favorite bad-boy, and has all the qualities of a skilled panty-dropper.

• A face that makes girls weep – check.
• Abs that can shred Parmesan cheese (the expensive kind) – check.
• Enough confidence to shift the earth’s gravitational pull – double check.

Not to mention Liam is strictly off limits . Forbidden. Her coaches have made that perfectly clear. (i.e. “Score with Coach Wilder anywhere other than the field and you’ll be cut from the team faster than you can count his tattoos.”) But that just makes him all the more enticing…Besides, Kinsley’s already counted the visible ones, and she is not one to leave a project unfinished.

Kinsley tries to play the game her way as they navigate through forbidden territory, but Liam is determined to teach her a whole new definition for the term “team bonding.”

A fun & sexy New Adult Romance (age 17+)

  1. This was my gateway R.S Grey book, and now I am hooked. Absolutely adored Liam and Kinsley was so fierce. I liked catching up with them later in the Summer Games books too.

    1. OMG you too????? I adore those two. Fierce is a great way to describe them. Have you read Beau & Belle yet? They aren’t as fierce, but it’s a beautiful story nonetheless. 🙂
