The Royals Series
Genre: YOUNG ADULT
These Royals will ruin you.
Easton Royal has it all: looks, money, intelligence. His goal in life is to have as much fun as possible. He never thinks about the consequences because he doesn’t have to.
Until Hartley Wright appears, shaking up his easy life. She’s the one girl who’s said no, despite being attracted to him. Easton can’t figure her out and that makes her all the more irresistible.
Hartley doesn’t want him. She says he needs to grow up.
She might be right.
Rivals. Rules. Regrets. For the first time in Easton’s life, wearing a Royal crown isn’t enough. He’s about to learn that the higher you start, the harder you fall.
When I read all those teasers with “You’ll be ruined” – I thought they were just kidding – no sir!!! After finishing this roller coaster ride of emotions, all I can say is that I was NOT prepared for this book.
Because honestly, I had NO idea what was coming.
Not only was this book just the BEGINNING, people, buckle up because afterwards you’ll need a breather, Fallen Heir destroyed me!! I’m still reeling. My thoughts are all over the place, and I’m not really sure where to begin.
Let’s start with EASTON.
He definitely ruined me!!!
Easton was adorable, naughty, cocky, and a typical Royal. My heart went BOOM and gooey over him. But OMG he also broke my heart. There were multiple times when all I wanted to do was to dive into the book and hug him, shake him, kiss him.
He was such a complex characters, with so many layers that revealed a person I never really knew. His hidden feelings about being a middle child and not really belonging to any fraction broke my heart. Feeling empty, and a fraud. Easton was shockingly complex, and Fallen Heir peeled back those happy carefree layers and revealed an Easton that was at times hiding behind a persona that gave zero shits, struggled with a past that could pull him back into an abyss any time, and trying to find a place where he felt he was needed and loved. I had no idea how flawed and tormented he really was.
Fallen Heir was all about EASTON, and I LOVED it!!! He deserved our uninterrupted attention. Because there was so much more to Easton than I could have ever imagined.
He had me all twisted up.
I ached for him so badly, but also was frustrated at times. He had such amazing potential that he failed to grasp without wanting to self-destruct. It was a circle that pulled me in and sucked me dry. I loved him so much, but also feared and worried about him. That boy, he literally broke my heart.
Now, let’s get to Hartley. I thought she was a wonderful character and love interest for Easton. She was his very opposite, but also in many ways just like him. Her indifference to his charms, name, and reputation was what made Easton pay attention. The chase and her lack of fawning over him brought him closer and closer until a friendship blossomed that was something Easton didn’t even know he needed or was looking for. Hartley gave Easton a reason to do better, and to rethink his actions and their repercussions.
I loved seeing him change. His thought process was eye-opening and fascinating, and sometimes even frustrating. I wanted to shake sense into him more than once. lI wanted to protect him, from everything and everyone, even from himself. I had it BAD. 😀
Easton was a DARLING. A naughty one, but adorable nevertheless. He was incredibly endearing, sweet, but also self destructive. I loved his complexity and intricacy.
Honestly I think Easton is their BEST character yet.
Now, it wouldn’t be a review if I didn’t mention that this story, Easton’s story is far from over, and I literally mean it – it’s not over yet!! I’m not sure if his books are going to be a trilogy or a duo, but there was so much going on, so many secrets, different story arcs, and new players being introduced that I feel like the end is not yet to come.
I had tons of questions. Our favorite twins for example had me sitting up and pricking my ears, because there is a HUGE story just waiting to be written. Their dynamic and relationship might be the pinnacle of the entire series. I can’t wait!!!
So, coming to the END – without a doubt ERIN WATT is a duo that has honed their skill masterfully and continue to produce books that thrill and captivate me every second of it. They are experts in their craft. There was NOT one boring minute in this book – rather the opposite really. I need a breather afterwards just to get my heart under control. This series is INSANELY addicting!!! I need MORE Easton!!
I can’t wait what they are coming up with next.
