Meet the Author:

Kate Stewart lives in Charleston, S.C. with her husband, Nick, and her naughty beagle, Sadie. A native of Dallas, Kate moved to Charleston three weeks after her first visit, dropping her career of 8 years, and declaring it her creative muse. Kate pens messy, sexy, angst-filled contemporary romance as well as romantic comedy and erotic suspense because it’s what she loves as a reader. A lover of all things ’80s and ’90s, especially John Hughes films and rap, she dabbles a little in photography, can knit a simple stitch scarf for necessity only and does a horrible job of playing the ukulele. Aside from running a mile without collapsing, traveling is the only other must on her bucket list. On occasion, she does very well at vodka.

Music . . . the heart’s greatest librarian.

The average song is three and a half minutes long; those three and a half minutes could lead to a slow blink, a glimpse of the past, or catapult the soul into heart-shattering nostalgia.

At the height of my career, I had the life I wanted, the life I’d always envisioned. I’d found my tempo, my rhythm. Then I received a phone call that left me off key.

You see, my favorite songs had a way of playing simultaneously. I was in love with one man’s beats and another’s lyrics. But when it came to the soundtrack of a life, how could anyone choose a favorite song? So, to erase any doubt, I ditched my first-class ticket and decided to take a drive, fixed on the rearview.

Two days.

One playlist.

And the long road home to the man who was waiting for me.

Drive was one EPIC ROCK STAR LOVE STORY!!!! It was a messy, and emotionally engaging story of second chances, soulmates, and an overwhelming passion for music.

Reading the blurb I knew DRIVE would be a thoroughly touching read, a moving triangle story with heart and soul. It was all about missed opportunities, mistakes, demons, wrong timing, and the soul deep yearning for the right person.

I don’t usually like to read triangle stories, but I couldn’t pass up this opportunity. A rock star romance from Kate Stewart could only mean one thing – a passionately heart-rending love-story that would rock my heart and mind. And that’s exactly what happened.

I don’t want to say I cried, but my heart was aching throughout the entire book. I was literally sitting on the edge of my seat, hoping for a certain outcome, and feeling sorrow for the one that was left behind. The author delivered a masterful tale that kept me flipping pages and wondering if my heart would ever be the same again.

Heart-felt feelings were jumping of the pages. Passion, sorrow, hope, loss and love all mixed together made one very messy but also very realistic background of a love-story that felt all consuming. I have to applaud the author for writing such appealing and likable characters. The story ripped my heart apart, shook it, and knitted it back together after one utterly emotional but happy ending.

I might not have welcomed every decision the characters took, but in retrospect I can only say that the author did a wonderful job of connecting all the dots and answering question I was burning to get answered.

    1. Thank you so much Adelia!! It’s definitely a book I would recommend especially if you like the musicians and rock star trope.;-)

    1. Me too Sarah!!! I thought it was a genial idea! Even though I’m not that much into music, the way she formatted it was wonderful. It really resonated with me.
