Man oh man this book WOWED me!!

Ella Fields has written a stunning and original love story that took my breath away. There’s nothing better than reading a new to me author who stuns me right out of the gate. I’m over the moon excited and cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

My blog partner lovingly calls me a drama whore and angst slut! I don’t deny either of these classifications and actively seek amazing reads to feed my needs. I’m so excited to have find this gem of a novel. Gah! It’s all the things. The perfect mix of angst, family drama, and steamy love between characters who in theory, shouldn’t work at all.

Here’s the breakdown:

Vera is a wealthy socialite living off her father’s money. On the outside, it looks as though she has the perfect life. She has money, a fabulous apartment, and a wealthy boyfriend who can afford her the life she’s grown used too. What’s missing though is true love and connection with another person.

What I absolutely loved:

The main characters and quite a contradiction! Not only because they go together like oil and water, but also because I should have hated Vera. The bitchy socialite is not typically my jam. Wealthy, materialistic characters and I don’t mesh well. LOL But what’s so brilliant about the book is that Vera is just that, but so much more. The author weaves the story in way that I couldn’t help but identify with and root for Vera. The character development is awesome and Jared is one of the dirtiest talking heroes I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading.

Which brings me to the best thing ever…the writing is amazing!

The story is crisp and engaging. I didn’t love every single thing about the plot, but it worked for me in a big way.

Speaking of plot. It’s a good one. The drama and angst are well balanced and done in a way that kept me on the edge of my seat. Man, I loved it!! I devoured this book in one sitting because I had to know how it would end. Amazing!

So, to sum up, I loved it. Highly recommended for lovers of dirty talking alphas, family drama, angst filled and steamy reads.

The debutante path is a fairly straight track: who you are, who you associate with, and whose label you are wearing become priorities. They define you. They are the aspects by which you are judged.

Ashlyn’s world has been one of enlightenment and finesse, and now she is ready to take on the financial world at her father’s company just as he had always planned. Her future had been scripted long ago, but a chance meeting with a beautiful boy on a bicycle gives Ashlyn a new outlook on life.

Ethan is far too young, far too tattooed, far too pierced—just far too everything—to ever fit into her world. He has issues, too—major ones. Ashlyn knows he will never be accepted by her friends, let alone her overbearing father, but there is something about his live-in-the-moment outlook that keeps drawing her back into his arms.

Ashlyn must make a choice. Can she forgo the family dynasty and live life to the fullest with this fascinating but damaged young man?

    1. Right???? I wish more authors would go that route. We need some more unique covers, outside of naked upper bodies.🤣 Romance authors need to take a clue from YA authors – those covers ROCK!!’
