Book Review – SINGE (Guardian Protection #1) by Aly Martinez

She was my nightmare. Every time I closed my eyes, I watched her fall into that inferno. Over and over, I failed to save her.

I hadn’t been able to reach her, and the guilt only burned hotter over time. Four years later, I was the unreachable one.

Heroes aren’t always saints. Sometimes, we’re nothing more than jaded sinners driven by sleepless nights and hearts full of darkness.

And then I met her. She was a dreamer who managed to soothe my scars and heal my wounds.

But, as the flames closed in around us, I feared I wasn’t the right man to save her. That is until I realized she was the one woman I’d burn the world down to protect.

OMG!! This book was awesome!

Aly Martinez latest novel was amazingly fresh and unique. She created one of the most feisty and awesome heroine I’ve had the pleasure of reading.

Rhion Park, heiress of the Park fortune, was a surviver of an unspeakable horrendous event. She almost burned to death when her families home was going down in flames with her in it. As fate intervened, Jude Levitt, a police officer on his night off, managed to safe her but not without lasting consequences.

Neither could shake the terrifying memories and years later they finally were able to confront their ghosts.

Rhion, deeply damaged by the event, buried herself figuratively and literally in her spacious apartment above the Guardian Protection Agency.

Until the day Jude Levitt arrived as the newest member of the security agency.

Jude had no idea what was coming, and neither had Rhion. They were both caught by surprise, not only by the other person but also by the buried feelings of guilt that still lingered even after so many years.

Jude had the worst time to come to grips with seeing Rhion. He felt absolutely responsible for what transpired on that fateful day. Whereas Rhion couldn’t wait to find out if the Jude from her dreams and memories was the same as in real life.

Even so they shared much pain and history, it appeared that they had very different opinions and feelings about their tragic encounter so long ago .

For Jude it was all about the guilt.  It warped his view of the event in such a way that all he saw was his failure.

Contrary to Jude, all Rhion felt was gratitude. She put him on a pedestal that he refused to stand on. She was feisty, sassy and just adorable. She believed in him 100%, and was committed in keeping her man.

Given the complexity of their past they did their best to achieve a resemblance of normality, especially with Rhion and her adorable crazy ways. And Jude would do anything in his power to keep her safe at last.

SINGE by Aly Martinez was a beautifully written story. It was sweet, sexy, heart-warming, and incredibly romantic!! The writing was addictive and I got lost within the story from start to finish.

It’s a story where an unexpected twist of fate can change lives fundamentally and irreversible. Finding the way back to the light can sometimes be the hardest road, but also lead to the most beautiful endings.

Jude and Rhion were a fascinating couple, wonderfully layered, genuine and charismatic. On top of that, the supporting cast was just as captivating as the main characters. I can’t wait to see others couples pair up.

Aly Martinez did a fabulous job with this new series.  BRAVO!!!!
