Now, he’s back, and everything is torn apart once more.
But he’s not the only one doing the tearing this time.
And there might be no stopping the person who has it out for us both.

I loved him before I knew what the word meant.
From skinned knees to first dates and everything in between.
But he was never mine to love.
I settled for friendship, even though I always wanted more.
That was before.
Before he ripped my world apart and didn’t bother sticking around to help me pick up the pieces.
I knit every last shred back together all on my own.
And I’ve all but forgotten his name.
MY THOUGHTS
Confession, I made a vow to myself to branch out this year and read more new to me authors. I’ve done okay, but not great. So when this gem landed on my kindle, I was super excited to dive in. The cover is super pretty and I’d heard nothing but amazing things about the author. So I happily dove in head first!
I loved so much about this book. Here we go:
The storytelling is fantastic. I went in completely blind and god am I glad I did. I have to admit, I probably would have hesitated knowing there was a loss, but I completely enjoyed the storyline. It’s heart wrenching. The gut punches were the absolute best. I experienced the full range of emotions while reading this beautiful story.
The characters are completely fleshed out and amazing. Gah Cupcake and Trouble. And….I’m sobbing again. I love them. Their past and pain was so close to the surface that I found myself tearing up throughout. It’s an emotional read that also sexy and so full of hope!
The realism of the novel is what ultimately won my heart. I feel connected to this town and these characters. I want to read books in the series for months and years to come. They are a close knit family and it felt like hanging out with great friends.
Overall, this was a hit for me. Great writing, amazing characters, and the perfect mix of romance, feels, suspense! Catherine Cowles is a new to me author that I fully intend to binge read right now.
