HOT. Steamy. Fantastic.
M/M at its BEST!!
Drew Forrester is a total adrenaline junkie.
His high of choice?
The faster, the better.
He’s been making waves in Maryland’s underground racing circuit since he crossed the state line, and after speaking with him, we know he’s not hitting the brakes anytime soon.
So what exactly does it take to burn rubber and make a name for yourself in a world where the only rule is there are no rules?
You gotta be hungry…
You gotta have balls…
And you can never back down.
What’ve we learned here at GearShark?
Drew is all of the above.
We also know he’s got some secrets buried under his hood.
Secrets we think are loaded with octane and just might set the world of cars on fire.
In 2016 I was introduced by a fellow reader to the hashtag series by Cambria Hebert. I tremendously enjoyed #Nerd (Hashtag, #1) , #Hater (Hashtag, #2) , and #Player (Hashtag, #3) BUT #Junkie (GearShark #1) was soooo much BETTER!!
I have to admit that I have always been PICKY about the M/M books I read. It took me a very long time to pop my M/M cherry and now I love it – BUT I’m still picky. Usually my go-to authors are Sarina Bowen and Elle Kennedy or C.S. Pacat. They have a wonderful way of taking M/M to the next level.
I’m so glad to be able to say that Cambria Hebert did just that with #Junkie.
This book was wonderful!!!!
I LOVED the relationship between Drew and Trent.
They had been friends, best friends before they ever realized that they were interested in each other way beyond a friendship. Neither had ever had a gay relationship or even made out with a guy. Trent and Drew had no idea how to go forward. They were just realizing that they are the happiest in each others company.
Their eyes were always drawn towards each other. Their touches were suddenly so much more exciting and meaningful.
IT WAS HOOOOOT!!
When Trent realized that he might be more into Drew than just being friends he decided he would visit a gay bar to find out if ANY guy would work for him – which of course it DIDN’T!!! Coincidentally, Drew stopped at the same bar that Trent was visiting and a confrontation was unavoidable.
When Drew saw Trent flirting with another guy he found himself very possessive of Trent, and realized that he wouldn’t accept any other outcome than for Trent to be his. For Trent, the situation was eyeopening. He didn’t think or ever let himself hope that Drew was as interested in him as he was in Drew. It was an eypeoener indeed!!!!
Both weren’t ready to put lapels on themselves or their relationship. All they really knew was that they were only interested in each other. So they decided to keep it on the down low.
Not only for themselves but also for Drew’s career as a underground race car driver.
But those news never stay hidden for long, and their eyes spoke a thousand words.
I adored Trent and Drew. It was such an interesting premise that neither guy had come out yet nor had either any experience with oder guys. They both were literally a clean slate. I loved how they experimented with each other, how they found out what they liked and what turned them on.
This book was all about finding yourself.
Allowing yourself to be true to yourself.
No lapels needed.
Just two guys that had been best friends and now were MORE.
Going into #junkie I didn’t know that it was book 1 in a duet – nevertheless I can’t wait to read the conclusion.
