I honestly didn’t know what to expect going into this book. When an author takes this long of a break between books, it’s never a good sign.

But wow – what a book!

I’m beyond amazed by what the author delivered with this story.

EVERYTHING – literally everything I love about this author’s writing is in this book.

The OTT alpha male hotness, her signature writing style, and a tough heroine that surprised the heck out of me. It was an all around awesome read that I devoured.

Like I mentioned, I wasn’t sure what to expect and the first few chapters didn’t pull me in right away. The set up was unique. The arrangement totally OTT. And the hero was a jerk.

But the execution, and how the author brought it all together absolutely worked for me!

The idea of the story, the characters and the execution totally delivered. Just by reading the blurb it’s a given that the story on its one is outlandish – lol. Moreover the arranged virgin marriage has been done before – honestly what hasn’t. But because the characters weren’t as I expected, I was hooked. The heroine went into this arrangement knowing exactly what she wanted out of it, and it worked for her. It might not have worked for anyone else, but she stood by her decision and I admired her for it.

The angst level wasn’t all consuming either – which I loved. Or maybe what I perceive as ANGST isn’t exactly what everyone else thinks of it. Either way, I was absolutely ok with the level of angst.

There were so many things I enjoyed about this book.

The chemistry, and the relationship growth between the bride and the groom. He was a jerk, but whenever he unintentionally showed his softer side I acutely melted.  And I most of all loved that the heroine gave as good as she got. It might have taken her a bit to feel comfortable to push back, but she did. At that point, when she started to figure him out –  I knew it would be a great book. On more than one occasion I was laughing out loud. Like I said, it had everything I love about a great love story.

Of course it wouldn’t be a RK Lilley book if the guy didn’t have to grovel at the end. And wowzer – I loved that part! I really felt his need, his frustration and desperation jumping off the pages – it was just so well done!

I’m not saying it was the BEST book I ever read. Or that it was wowing the pants off me. But it was entertaining and captivating from beginning to end – and just pure fun to read. Arranged was one of those books that didn’t need much thought or commitment, it just was exactly what I wanted to read. I devoured it, and didn’t want to put it down. It was easy and light reading, that made me forget everything else. And even though it was OTT, it was well balanced. I even felt it was her most well balanced book yet. And if this is what’s coming from this author in the future I’m all in.

Arranged - R.K. LilleyThere were rules in the cash-for-beauty game. The money held the power. The beauty followed the rules and jumped through the hoops.

I knew what everyone would think if they knew the truth about my marriage. They’d be shocked and appalled. And rightly so. I was a young, modern, independent woman, and I’d done the unthinkable. I’d sold my virginity to a spoiled, rich boy. To a stranger who didn’t love me.

And yes, I’d done it all for money.

My bride was as gorgeous as she was unwelcome. As desirable as she was unwanted. I wanted nothing to do with her, but that didn’t seem to matter exactly the second she got close enough to touch. lI wanted her to hate me more than she loved the millions she’d sold herself for.

I wanted to spurn her, but unfortunately, I wanted to fuck her more.

R.K. Lilley has been a writer since she can remember, but has held down some interesting jobs to pay the bills. For several years she was a first class flight attendant, and she always swore that she just had to write a book about it. Mixing her love of romance and all things BDSM, the Up In the Air Trilogy is her debut into the world of contempary romance and erotica. She is currently working on the final installment in the series.
