Always and Forever Lara Jean by Jenny Han

This trilogy has been such a blast for me. And I think that’s partially because the audiobooks were just incredibly well done. But honestly, the author portrait such a wholesome and genuinely charming character with Lara Jean that the entire series is hard to top.

CORINA’S REVIEW

Audiobook

Ok, I’m totally going to gush here.

This trilogy has been such a blast for me. And I think that’s partially because the audiobooks were just incredibly well done. But honestly, the author portrait such a wholesome and genuinely charming character with Lara Jean that the entire series is hard to top.

Throughout the book I was chuckling and swooning over Peter, rolling my eyes and smiling at Lara Jean’s antics, and getting all warm and fuzzy by the heartwarming relationships the Song girls had. And of course by how well Lara Jena and Peter understood and knew each other.

I was beyond amazed by Peter.

He surprised me again and again by how well he listened, thanks to how well Lara Jean had him trained – lol. The length Peter went to make LJ happy – was just the BEST. The genuine love he felt for her and the way he showed it again and again – was just so swoony. And of course how open and easygoing he could be with her, and how obvious it was that Peter loved being with LJ more than anything, warmed my heart.

Lara Jean was a fabulous heroine.

She knew what she wanted. With a strong character, and her own principles that she stuck to, LJ was everything a teenager should be. Her wholesome and uplifting but also innocent personality was like a beacon throughout this entire series. Lara Jean’s desire to bake the best chocolate chip cookie was admirable and added just the cutest layer to an already wonderful personality. Her ideals, dreams and wishes for the future were obviously very innocent but also incredibly charming.

The wholesome message that wove through this trilogy was heart-warming and genuine. A book/series that every teenager should read. It again and again highlighted the importance of family, being kind and considered, and not being afraid of peer pressure and the fear of fitting in. LJ enjoyed hobbies that many teenagers wouldn’t even consider cool anymore – like baking, scrapbooking and volunteering at a senior home. I wish more kids were like this, because LJ was a girl I would have loved to call my friend or even daughter.

Now, I really hope their relationship prospered, endured and lasted – because they deserved it all, and just thinking about a different outcome has me close to crying – lol. Yeah, I admit, I’m totally invested in this couple, and haven’t felt like this about a YA novel in ages.

I’m looking forward to what else this author is coming up, because this just can’t be the last by Jenny Han.
