Weekly Recap – Catching Up

Fall-

Welcome to my weekly recap,

Hello everyone, I’m back safe and sound.

This weekend flew by insanely fast. I came back from Vegas Sunday night, actually it was Monday morning 12:15am. I literally dropped everything, suitcases, clothes, and fell into bed, knowing that I had to get up at 6am.

Vegas was AMAZEBALLS!!!

It started with checking in on Friday, racing against time. I had 20 minutes until closing and must have come across a little frazzled and overwhelmed because the ladies at the check-in counter took pity on me and gave me a VIP wristlet. Apparently they were giving them away to some lucky attendees – lucky me.

Now the meet and greet Friday night  was a bust. I hate mingling and socializing and since I went by myself not knowing anyone it was AWKWARD!!! Standing around, seeing everyone chatting in circles and sitting in groups, and not wanting to interrupt conversations made the meet and greet an unpleasant event for me. At the end I walked a round, talked to an author buddy of mine, and left. I definitely left with the realization that I will NEVER EVER buy a ticket for a Meet and Greet again.

The book signing event on  Saturday was FANTASTIC!!!!

Because of the VIP status I had an additional hour at the signing. That mad it 6 hours of running around non-stop. It was crazy pants!!!!

I got everything done. Every author was visited. Every book got signed.

At the end I brought home 56 books. And ended up winning two additional books, plus picked up a free book from one of my favorite authors. All in all, LoveNVegas was more than successful. I had a blast, and was able to get everything done that I wanted to get done. Giving it TWO THUMPS UP!!!

We are on the wordpress reader – YAY!!!

Amazing news  – we finally made it on the reader.

After reading Sophie’s blog post Backstage Blogging I pushed one more time and live chatted with an WP engineer. Apparently everything looked good on my side, so the engineer send off a request to the Reader developers and guess what, they came through. We are trough the roof ecstatic. This was such a pain in the butt and having it all cleared up was such a relief.

I’m one happy camper!!

Pretty much the same as last week…

I reviewed two books, Cherish Hard and An Ex for Christmas but I also requested a few others – sigh. It’s a never-ending cycle.

I have three request that are still pending.

One is a highly anticipated read and I fear I won’t get it. Which would be such a disappointment.

The other two books I would gladly cancel the request if that would be an option. Actually that should be an option on NetGalley. We bloggers should also be able to cancel requests if they take too long or if we lose interest after the fact.

This week’s book haul was fantastic…

Lovers Like Us (Like Us #2) by Krista Ritchie, Becca Ritchie

OMG I can’t wait to read this book!!!!!! RL is not cooperative, but this weekend I’ll find the time, I’m so jealous of everyone that has already read it.

Butterfly (A Public Enemy Standalone) by Cambria Hebert

I absolutely ADORE the cover of Butterfly. I’m already planning on buying the paperback, need it on my shelf ASAP.:D

Miserere: An Autumn Tale by Teresa Frohock, T. Frohock

This one was a recommendation from a favorite authors. That particular author doesn’t recommend often, but when she does I pay attention.

Gifts (The Killers #3) by Brynne Asher

I read an intriguing review about this book from a fellow blogger, and since it’s on KU it was an easy decision to give it a try.

Now my audiobook situation is pretty much the same as two weeks ago…

I have a surplus of audiobooks and don’t know where to start.

Right Where We Belong (Silver Springs #4) by Brenda Novak (currently reading it)

Origin (Robert Langdon #5) by Dan Brown

When Dimple Met Rishi by Sandhya Menon

Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli

The Last Magician by Lisa Maxwell

NOTHING – lol

No highlights this week, hopefully I’ll have something to show off next week. I’m working on our TTT post for this week as well as a blog post about book signings. So we’ll see how it goes.

I finished the audiobooks for This Savage Song (Monsters of Verity #1 and Our Dark Duet (Monsters of Verity #2 by Victoria Schwab and LOVED it!!! Review to come…

We do have a signed paperback giveaway as well as an October wrap-up giveaway on our FB page if someone is interested in entering. Link in image.

    1. lol Susan after counting them the right way I got to 56 books:D I added a picture just now. I read most of them already, we got many for giveaways and some go to TJ. I myself love my kindle and don’t really collect paperbacks anymore.

  1. YAY!!! I’m so happy for everything Corina!!!! And I will go to the After Party at RARE Londonso I hope I won’t feel awkward

  2. I totally agree-bloggers should be able to rescind requests for books. I hate that they just sit there forever. Its so annoying!
Glad you had such a great time in Vegas!
I am curious about the Brynne Asher series you mentioned. I liked her previous series but haven’t tried this new series. Sounds interesting though!
    Have a great week!

    1. right? I wish NetGalley would change that. I have books on my pending shelf I don’t even want to read anymore.

Vegas was the BOMB!! I had the best time.:D

I’m really interested in Brynne Asher, it’s my first book by her and I hope I’ll love it. I could use a few new favorite authors.

    1. Try again on Monday. Sometimes all you have to do is nag them. And maybe your email might still be a in a pile of hundreds.;-) So remind them. Don’t give up. Because of Sophie I tried again and I’m happy I did so.

    1. I thought so too 🙂 we might have gone a little over board with the amount of books we purchased, but the VIP status was GOLD. It made my day much easier.

    1. lol – AJ so true!! Fortunately many of the books I already read and just wanted to have for my bookshelf, others go to my blog partner, and a third group we bought just for giveaways. Thank you and have a great day yourself!!!
