Tijuana’s Year End Review

2017 has been an amazing year for me!

I had so many bookish firsts, I decided to share them with you all.

The biggest adventure was my very first book signing.  I’ll never forget the nerves and near panic attack I had when I purchased my tickets for the RT Booklovers Convention in Atlanta. I just had to choose one of the largest signings of the year as my first.

Go big or go home, right?!

All the stress and worry was for nothing because it was one of the best experiences EVER!  Not only did I meet some of my favorite authors, I met a few of my closest book-world friends.

Another big first for me was establishing social media presence for my blog.  I’d started blogging before, but just as a mini hobby to post my Netgalley reviews.  I decided to venture out and try to reach a larger audience.  I had no idea what I was doing, but social media led me to so many new and exciting things.  It opened my eyes to just how close and tight knit this community can be.  I LOVE IT!

Now for my biggest venture… This Blog!

Corina and I started this year as Happily Ever After Book Reviews and TJ Loves Books Blog.  She was one of those fast friends I met and we just clicked.  We loved a lot of the same books. We shared the same vision regarding where we wanted to take our blogs.  So we decided to merge our pages and create something new and exciting.  It’s been an amazing journey.  We’re learning as we go, but having a blast along the way.  That’s what it’s all about!

So, here are few of my Absolute Favorite Reads of 2017

Here’s what I’m looking forward to reading in the new year:

My NetGalley progress:

I let my NetGalley shelves slip a bit this year and have been pushing really hard to reach 80% again.  I’m currently at 71% feedback ratio, but I’m determined to hit 80% before 1/5/2018.  I really must do a better job controlling myself in the new year.  Maybe that will be one of my resolutions – Don’t request more books than you can read at the moment!  Ha! Please don’t hold me to this, but I’m seriously going to try to not only make it to 80%, but maintain that rating throughout the new year.

  1. Oh it looks like you have had a wonderful year here. I really did love The Mount Trilogy, Cowboy Up and Royally Endwoed. And 2018 should be a pretty good reading year of books coming out.

And so thrilled that your first experience at RT was such a great experience, I plan on going next year and hope its a great experience.

  2. I enjoyed meeting you at the signing in Charlotte, NC!! You are an awesome friend and I enjoy your blog sooo much!! Congrats on such a great year and I can’t wait to see more!!!

    1. I love your face! 😭❤️❤️ Meeting you and Jenny was such a BLAST! I can’t wait to do it again soon! Thank you so much for your support and kind words!

  3. What an awesome year! I’ve attended a smaller scale author event, and I’m hoping I can work up to attending Texas Book Festival at the Texas Capitol in 2018. It brings me anxiety, too! You are doing great with your NetGalley ratio! You’ll get back up there. I don’t even want to talk about mine…*hangs head* That’s my big goal for the year.
