TJ & Co’s Favorites for September

Here’s a list of the books we read and loved in September, our top recommendations.

Fall-

LJ Shen brought the house down with this one!  It’s taboo at it’s finest.  The older man/woman trope actually takes a back seat to the amazingly emotional story.  It’s magnificent.  The writing is superb and it’s the absolute best of the series! #HotholesFTW

Scandalous is complex, emotionally riveting, and an intricately plotted work of art. It’s thought-provoking and guaranteed to steal your heart. I was in tears at the end. #BestEpilogueAward. I always expect the unexpected with the Hotholes and Trent did not disappoint. ~ Tijuana

It was SCANDALOUS, TANTALIZING and PANTY DROPPING HOT, in the most exhilarating way. I was so not prepared for Trent and Edie. There was no way I could have imagined how explosive this couple would be. From the very first moment they met the world stopped existing, faded away to leave Trent and Edie on an emotional and life altering roller coster ride. ~ Corina

Dirty Filthy Rich Love
(Dirty Duet #2)

Donovan mother-fucking Kincaid!!  That’s says it all, folks.  I’m in love with a fictional character!  I seriously don’t think Laurelin Paige can do any wrong.  She creates some of the most intriguing male leads I’ve ever read, and Donovan is certainly one of them.

Laurelin Paige is not messing around! Sabrina and Donovan brought that fire with Dirty Filthy Rich Love! I’m in book boyfriend heaven right now! It’s been days since I finished this book and I’m still thinking about it. IT WAS THAT GOOD!!! Utter perfection! ~ Tijuana

Emma Hart  I knew it!  Damien Fox reeled me in and Perrie Fox took me over the edge.  The book is sweet, emotional, sexy, and super cute.  Emma Hart perfectly pairs sex appeal and family oriented humor.  It’s gripping, funny, and an all-around amazing read.

This might be a full on rambling review. I’m warning you LOL. I’ll do my best to keep it concise, but there is a chance things could go off the rails….just saying.

I say this a lot, but I want to elaborate this time. I’d been waiting on pins and needles for this book. Like there were ants in my pants, jittering like a bug on a hot plate kind of waiting because I was so flipping excited to see how this story would play out. I mean seriously, A HOOKER AND A COP… sign me right the hell up and send it to me NOW!!  ~ Tijuana

Beneath the Truth
(Beneath #7)

Meghan March  Meghan March never fails to entertain.  Her alphas and their strong female counterparts are incomparable.  Oh, and should I mention Lachlan Mount?  I cannot wait to learn about this badass character in Ruthless King next month.  It was the perfect ending to a perfect series.

Ladies, Rhett checked all my boxes:
Sexy ✔️
Possessive ✔️
Sweet ✔️
Loyal ✔️

Ari also checked all my boxes. She’s crazy smart, awkward, brutally honest, and has no filter. I enjoyed this super smart strong female lead.
This series is my absolute favorite from Meghan March. The formula works for me –big time. I’m sad to see it end, but it was a really great ending.
If alpha-males and feisty women are your thing, you can’t go wrong with any book from this series. I recommend them all. ~ Tijuana

The Affiliate
(Ascension #1)

K. A. Linde’s breathtaking YA Fantasy series has captivated me.  I didn’t want to do anything else while reading these books.  I was completely enthralled and CANNOT wait to read The Consort!

If you were to start with a little bit of The Selection, add in a smidge of ACOTAR, then sprinkle in a bit of The Golden Dynasty you’d have something that’s truly amazing! That’s kinda how this book reads! Don’t get me wrong, it’s completely fresh and unique. However, it feels like an amalgamation of everything I love about the YA genre with a hint of romance. I adored everything about it! ~ Tijuana

Archangel’s Viper
(Guild Hunter #10)

I had no idea how much Holly and Venom would suck me in. The Guild Hunter series has been one of my favorite Urban Fantasy from the very beginning. Nalina Singh is one incredibly author, and whatever she writes I usually read and love. Some I love more than others, and Archangel’s Viper was defiantly a HIT with me. LOVE!!!

For me, this book was addictive. From beginning to end Archangel’s Viper captivated me and didn’t let go until I reached THE END.  The authors trademark writing style and whip-smart dialogues entranced and pulled me in. Her storytelling is in a class of its own. The way she waved past and present was uniquely Nalini Singh. Storylines that happened eons ago were picked up again, questions were answered, knots unraveled – nothing was left untended. ~ Corina

The Learning Hours
(How to Date a Douchebag #3)

I fell in love with the first ever Douchebag – Zeke, and never looked back. This series has been so much fun!! The Learning Hours was one of my MOST HIGHLY ANTICIPATED book of this month.

You guys have to try this book – I fell in LOVE with it HEAD OVER HEELS!!!
So special that it honestly threw me for a loop. The Learning Hours was so much more than I could have ever hoped for. Sara Ney made the unthinkable happen – she turned my life upside down.

Barking Up the Wrong Tree
(Sex and Sweet Tea #3)

Loved this book so much!!! Juliette Poe’s books are the perfect blend of sweet, sassy and sexy. Her characters are hilarious, down to earth, small town inhabitants, and quirky enough to make them unforgettable. I’m head over heels in love with her books, three books so far and every single one was a HIT for me. That does not often happen. 😀

In Barking Up the Wrong Tree Laken Mancinkus is the woman to keep an eye on. She is utterly comfortable in her skin, self assured, and not really looking for a relationship with Jake McDaniel. But from the very first moment they laid eyes on each other, there was something special in the air. Her professionalism and her no-nonsense attitude left a lasting impression on Jake. A healthy dose of attraction and an enjoyable night later and all bets were off. ~ Corina

    1. YES!!! I’m so happy to hear that – it’s not like our tbr shelf aren’t full already – but I love to be a reason for someone to find a new favorite book/author. 😀

    1. lol – Jessica, there was a time when I was able to read so many more books, I’m actually sad that I can’t read as many as I could before. I hope October is way better 😀 – September sucked. Those reading slumps I was in were no fun at all. Happy reading!!
