TIJUANA’S REVIEW

***REREAD #19 or 20 LOLOL***

No matter how many times I come back to this book, I can always count on it being a good time. This was my very first Kristen Ashley read and is close to being my most re-read book of all time. It’s the one book I know I can listen to no matter how severe a book funk has become!

Indy and Liam are the tits! I laugh my ass off each and every single time! She’s a nut and he’s overbearing. They are the very definition of OTT and I love it so damn much! Luckily, I own the series on Audible and can listen whenever I feel the need. The audiobook is Fan-Freaking-Tastic. Susanna Jones narrates this series and does an amazing job capturing each character’s essence and making it easy to distinguish their voices.

Here’s what I love:

Liam put the A in Alpha.
Indy and her crew are the definition of OTT and so much damn fun
The book is funny, but also sprinkled throughout with action and intrigue
The narration is Top Notch
I love the crazy ass secondary characters

Highly recommended

BLURB

Indy Savage, cop’s daughter, rock chick and used bookstore owner, has been in love with Lee Nightingale, once bad boy, now the man behind Nightingale Investigations, since she was five years old. No matter what ingenious schemes Indy used to capture his attention, Lee never showed an interest and Indy finally gave up. Now Indy’s employee, Rosie, has lost a bag of diamonds and bad guys are shooting at him. When Indy gets involved, Lee is forced to help. Complicating matters, Lee has decided he’s interested, Indy’s decided she’s not. But she can’t seem to keep Lee out of her life when she’s repeatedly stun gunned, kidnapped and there are car bombs exploding (not to mention she’s finding dead bodies).

Indy’s best bet is to solve the mystery of the diamonds before Lee. Lee’s challenge is to keep Indy alive and, at the same time, win back her heart.

GOODREADS

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA. She nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorise and she hadn’t taken her first breath!).
Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana but has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.

Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multi-generational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland and existed amongst the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.

The Farthest Edge (Honey #2)

The Deep End (Honey #1)

The Time in Between (Magdalene #3)

  1. ooh I still need to grab up this series. I hear that its pretty great though. I am tempted to get it in audiobook, but just ordered the series from The Ripped Bodice and can’t wait to read these books. Love everything I have read so far from Kristen Ashley.
