Goodreads Monday is a meme hosted by Lauren @Page Turner.
It’s pretty easy, just pick a book from your Goodreads tbr shelf and show it off. It’s a great way to show off books that have been on my tbr much too long!

THE BLURB

Read the cult-favorite coming of age story that takes a sometimes heartbreaking, often hysterical, and always honest look at high school in all its glory. Now a major motion picture starring Logan Lerman and Emma Watson, The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a funny, touching, and haunting modern classic.

The critically acclaimed debut novel from Stephen Chbosky, Perks follows observant “wallflower” Charlie as he charts a course through the strange world between adolescence and adulthood. First dates, family drama, and new friends. Sex, drugs, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Devastating loss, young love, and life on the fringes. Caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it, Charlie must learn to navigate those wild and poignant roller-coaster days known as growing up.

      1. It has to be said, though, that I have a very low emotional threshold. Everything even remotely sentimental strikes me hard… so maybe you’re stronger than me and will love it.

          1. Mmmmh, I’ve only watched the movie, maybe the book will be happier. Now that I think of it, it wasn’t overly tragic or anything. It just wasn’t my usual happy-happy movie… I’m not making it any better, am I? I’m hoping someone who actually read it will be able to give better advice 🙂

  1. I’m undecided about reading this, to be honest. I think I was put off with all the hype that surrounded it… I hope you enjoy it 🙂

    1. Exactly !!! Everyone talked about it, then the movie came out, it was still on everyone’s list and feed, so I thought what the heck I’ll try it out – yeah, still haven’t.:D
