Book Review – Vicious (Sinners of Saint #1) by L.J. Shen

4.5 stars

YAY I’m in love!!!!

Anything by  L.J. Shen and I’m hooked. She knows how to write a jerk. Her characters are always superb. Especially her male heroes. I just love ASSHOLES.

Baron Spencer Jr., known as Vicious, grew up with a silver spoon in his mouth. His father and stepmother owned a huge mansion, more money they could ever spent and had NO time for their son. Vic compensated by surrounding himself with his three best friends, together they were known as the Four HotHoles. Good looking, arrogant, and not above going the extra mile if it gets them what they want.

They ruled their school, and screwed their way through the entire female school population.

When Emilia LeBlanc’s parents started a new job, working for Vic’s parents, she was thrust into Vic’s path. One fateful incident and her life was changed forever.

From that moment on Vic bullied and pushed her around, even went so far and treated Emilia like a servant. Fortunately Emilia had a backbone. She didn’t care about his money or about his popularity. She came from humble upbringings and hardworking parents. She was kind, and a genuinely good person. And always believed in the good of people. Including Vicious.

She was attracted to him from the very beginning, and vice versa. Emilia never had any disillusions about it and Vicious fought his attraction with every step. Eventually he succeeded in driving her out of town. It took 10 years until they met again.

In a run-down bar in NY, they crossed paths again. Neither ever stopped thinking about the other. And now, nothing stood in the way anymore for Emilia and Vic to act on their feelings. Without any expectations or commitment they finally allowed themselves to be honest about their emotions.

The only question remained, how far would Vic go to finally claim her.

Dean got up from his chair and leaned into my face. “How far are you willing to go for this girl, Vic?” I ran a hand through my hair, tugging hard at the roots. “Well, I think I’m about to find the fuck out.”
I LOVED Vic. He was blunt, crude, ruthless, and a jerk. And I still loved him. It’s such a turn on to see a guy that did whatever he wanted being turned inside out by a girl. Even better, Vic didn’t turn into a wimp but stayed true to his-assholy-self. I loved how Emilia accepted that.
“I want to be with you,” she confirmed without hesitation, and fuck, it just got a whole lot warmer. “I know that they damaged you, and I still want you. I don’t even want to fix you. I just want you as you are. Broken. Misunderstood. Jerk. I want the real version, the dark version, the one who made me the saddest I’ve ever been in my life, but also the happiest.”
I loved  L.J. Shen’s writing. She has a real skill writing awesome characters. Strong males and equally strong females. I fell in love with her writing while reading Sparrow, and I was extremely pleased to receive an ARC for Vicious. Of course, now I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. I wonder if it’s going to be Rose and Dean. Can I hope????
P. S. and how awesome is that cover?????
