Book Review & Giveaway – Defy (Sinners of Saint 0.5) by L.J. Shen

Blurb

My name is Melody Greene, and I have a confession to make.
I slept with my student, a senior in high school.
Multiple times.
I had multiple orgasms.
In multiple positions.
I slept with my student and I enjoyed it.
I slept with my student and I’d do it all over again if I could turn back time.
My name is Melody Greene, and I got kicked out of my position as a teacher and did my walk of shame a la Cersei Lannister from the principal’s office, minutes after said principal threatened to call the cops on me.
My name is Melody Greene, and I did something bad because it made me feel good.
Here is why it was totally worth it.

AUTHOR’S NOTE:

Defy is a smutty, insta-love, insta-lust short novella. Defy is a prequel to Vicious (Sinners of Saint #1). It is recommended, but unnecessary, to read Defy before reading Vicious.

I LOVE this author’s writing style!!!

If you’re a fan of student-teacher romance, like myself, you NEED to read this prequel.

Ever since reading Vicious I have been in love with the HotHoles. Getting my hands on Defy was just the icing on the cake.

When Jamie and Melody were mentioned in Vicious I perked up. A younger student married to his teacher? Call me intrigued!!

Defy was the prequel to Vicious and gave a little more detail and insight into the groups dynamic. No wonder they were still the best of friends as adults, they went to great length to get things done in retaliation – it was mind boggling.

There were 8 years between Melody and Jamie, but that age gap was inconsequential. Jamie was mature for his age and had seen and done things in his life that would make grown-up males pee their pants.

I loved the idea of Mel and Jamie together. They were a wonderful couple. They found in each other what was missing in their life. Even so it was a case of insta-lust, Jamie had his eyes on her since the very first day of senior year. They got together a few month before the end of senior year and Mel had been very aware of him from the very beginning. When it finally came to it they both pretty much said “screw it” and enjoyed their time together, ignoring consequences and repercussions.

I adored that about Mel and Jamie. They went after what they wanted, neither cared much about what others might say or think, and when it came to standing up for the other, they did!!

Now, after reading Defy and Vicious, I can’t wait to read Dean and Trend’s story. I fell in love with this group of privileged high-schoolers that ruled their town with an iron fist. And L.J. Shen has a spot on my very short auto-buy list.
