WOW – what an emotional and heart-breaking new novel by Jay McLean. I shouldn’t have been surprised, she has done it before – this book totally gutted me.
If you love heartbreakingly emotional stories, this book is for you!!
Fantastic storytelling, wonderful and lovable characters, a family to love and cherish – LOGAN had it all. In typical Jay Mclean fashion, she keeps you guessing and holds your feelings hostage until the very end.

Arrogance as his armor.

What’s beneath the bravado, Logan Preston?
WOW – this book gutted me!!
I should have known by now that no book by Jay Mclean is ever just a light hearted read. She excels in breaking her characters and building them back up, including me.
LOGAN, was not an easy read for me.
There was so much already foreshadowing a certain abyss, but when it came – I was not at all prepared. This book ripped my heart to shreds, actually Logan was the one that did the shredding. I wanted to jump into the book and shake some sense into him – until I found out the reason why – at that point I wanted to fucking cry.
I had no idea. Nobody knew what was going on. I’ve known that boy since the very first book I read by Jay Mclean More Than Forever (More Than #4). And when I met little Logan, I couldn’t have imagined that he would be going through these kinds of nightmares.
And then came Mary.
Mary, Mary – you bitch!!!!
I hated her. I hated that Logan used her to get over his nightmares. I hated her whispering words into his ear. I hated her entire existence!!!!
I get it that Logan felt like he truly needed her. It gutted me every time he fell under her spell. But like so many other characters, Logan wouldn’t have been as captivating and spellbinding if he wouldn’t have had some kind of flaw. Unbeknownst to everyone he carried this dark secret with him, lurking, pushing him into the arms of Mary. That he didn’t think he could open up – devastated me. It crushed me!!!! The Preston family stood always for love, support and so much HEART! Logan broke my heart!
Red, aka Aubrey, had her own issues to worry about. Her history with guys made her pack up and move to a new town for a much needed new beginning. She was afraid when she fell for Logan that everything would start again. Her falling, him not reciprocating. Honestly she fit right in. Aubrey, battled her own monsters, and even though Logan and her couldn’t have been a better match, when it came to Mary, all bets were off.
Like I mentioned at the beginning, this book turned me inside out. I was a full of feelings, good, and bad. Not once while reading this book did I take a breather – I was as tense as a tightrope waiting for the big shoe to drop, and in typical Jay Mclean fashion, when it dropped it squashed me.
This book – wow!!!!
It brimmed with feelings, emotions, and raw intentions. Nothing was ever as it seemed. I think that was the worst of all, not realizing what was going on behind Logan’s cocky and black sheep attitude.
This book will stay with me for a long time!!!
And now, I have to honestly admit, I’m fucking scared of the next book. I’m afraid of the twins Lincoln and Liam, Lachy, and Leo. I have no idea what kind of life altering and gutting stories the author is going to come up for them – it scares the shit out of me.
I need a drink!!
