ARC Review – The Time in Between (Magdalene #3) by Kristen Ashley

Fall-

Meet the Author:

Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA. She nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorise and she hadn’t taken her first breath!).

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana but has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.

Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multi-generational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland and existed amongst the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.

(Magdalene #3)

Expected publication: August 29th 2017

Genre: Contemporary Romance

BLURB

After a painful loss, Cady Moreland is coming to Magdalene to start the next chapter of her life. A chapter that began eighteen years ago but had a heartbreaking ending. The time in between was full of family and friendship, but Cady could never get the man she fell in love with all those years ago out of her heart.

Coert Yeager has learned to live without the girl who entered his life right when she shouldn’t and exited delivering a crippling blow he never would have suspected. The time in between was full of failing to find what he was missing…and life-altering betrayal.

But when that girl shows up in Magdalene and buys the town’s beloved lighthouse, even if Coert wants to avoid her, he can’t. A fire in town sparks a different kind of flame that won’t be ignored.

As Cady and Coert question the actions of the two young adults they once were thrown into earth-shattering circumstances, can they learn from what came in between and find each other again?

CORINA’S REVIEW

Kristen Ashley is one of the ONLY authors that delivers again and again. WHATEVER book/genre she writes I can be assured that I’ll enjoy it. It’s rare to find an author that is this versatile, talented, and has such a unique voice that it will NEVER get boring.

Of course, throughout the years and the 40plus KA books I’ve read there are some books that stand out more than others. The MAGDALENA series has been one of those series. Every single book has been heartbreakingly beautiful, deeply affecting and an emotional roller coaster. She gives these couples a second chance, often later in live, that involves big families, kids and ex-partners.

I’m at that point where I don’t even need to read her blurbs anymore because who cares what the book will be about it’s a KA book – enough said!!

So, while reading The Time in Between I was reminded again and again why I liked KA as much as I did. Kristen Ashley‘s unique brand of dialogues, her vivid and detailed description, her sense of fashion, interior design and her absolute god-given talent of writing some of the BEST families I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading – makes her a JOY and a devour-in-one-sitting kind of author.

OMG – and The Time in Between had the BEST cameo EVER!!!! Rock Chicks rejoice!!!! I was smiling so HARD!!! I loved, loved, loved the connection to Denver, it was such an amazing surprise – she couldn’t have written it any better.

The beginning of The Time in Between was a little slow, and I had some trouble understanding Cady’s family ties, but that was forgotten as quickly as I got deeper into the story.

I have to mention it again, there is NO ONE that writes families as well as KA. There was so much love, affection, loyalty, and fun in The Time in Between. Her character (most of them) have the most wonderful family values that I wish everyone would experience in their life. And the women have the best husbands of all. 😀

Reading a KA novel makes me HAPPY!! And I’m super glad that she writes like crazy because I would hate having to wait an entire year for the chance to read another Kristen Ashley book.
